Are Rock Smash and Strength even needed? From what I've seen, virtually all the blocks have been removed -- in Kanto at least. I saw a random rock lying all by itself near Celadon and there may have been one or two in Rock Tunnel, but that's about it. Wouldn't Headbutt be more useful?

When were Rock Smash and Strength ever needed in Kanto . I only remember needing Strength in Johto few times and that's it .Headbutt would be great ...cuz then we could catch Heracross :3

Idk, lol. Couldn't you smash some rocks in Rock Tunnel or something? I guess it wasn't "needed" as such, as all you got were Geodude, I think, but it was still a thing. I'm surprised Surf isn't the last thing you unlock as it's by far the most useful.
I wonder if we'll ever see Fly or Teleport. They would make it feel like Christmas!

Yea, you only need strength for the gym in Cianwood City and cut/surf to travel around... Rock Smash isnt really necessary.

I remember strength being needed in Seafoam Cave. The boulders were probably taken out though.
