To be honest I wouldn't think gifs would work, because as far as I know, when you select an image in Java, you include the file extension too. To include gifs would mean changing the whole code for that object.

But then again, with my limited skills about programming I could be wrong

Could you give me an example of a .gif you'd like to see on the UI? I honestly doubt it would work, but I could try.

you could just pick up a gif from the internet, but well I guess Slam is right x)

... What if we took the devs, tied them up to a chair, beat them really hard, and then forced them to rewrite the code so that it supports gifs?
